Cate Blanchett has opened up about adopting a baby girl with her husband Andrew Upton.
The actress spoke about the adoption for the first time at the premiere of her film Cinderella in Sydney on Sunday.
Speaking to Sky News the blonde bombshell said: "It's extraordinary.
"There's a lot of children out there who don't have the good fortune that our biological children do, so it's wonderful. Cate oozes sophistication at the Cinderella photocall in Berlin
"It's wonderful to welcome a little girl into our fold."
The star, who already has three sons, Dashiell, 13, Roman, 10, and Ignatius, six, added: "We're besotted."
The news of the couple's adoption was confirmed earlier this month
in a statement, which said: "The Upton family (Cate Blanchett and
Andrew Upton) have adopted a baby girl. No further details will be
provided."
Reps for the Oscar-winning beauty, who married her hubby in 1997, confirmed the tot's name to be Edith Vivian Patricia Upton.

The stunning star previously admitted she wanted a bigger family.
Speaking
to InStyle magazine in 2009, she said: "I'd love to have more children.
Just when, I don't know. But the thing is, we hadn't planned any of the
others. They just popped out. So you shouldn't over-plan these things.
If it happens, it would be great."
The actress has also opened up about juggling her career as a Hollywood star and insisted her family came first.

She told PORTER magazine: "Playing the lead in a film where
you shoot for three months away from home is not an easy thing for me
when my children are in school and my husband is running a theatre
company.
"They [the other mothers] assume you have a nanny and a driver and a chef.
"Who gives a s*** whether I do or not?
"The
fact is I don't, but you know there is a certain circle of people - and
we all get insecure - who then ask, 'Why can't she brush her hair?' You
just have to shrug that off."
