It's long
been a trend that's either loved or hated but 2015 is definitely the
year when double denim is a style statement and not a fashion faux pas.
Combining
jeans with denim shirts and jackets was recently seen on the New York
and Paris Fashion Week runways with Tom Ford, Gucci and Louis Vuitton
among designers championing the look.
A
number of celebrities have also dared to wear double denim recently
including pop princess Rihanna and Britain's Got Talent judge Alesha
Dixon.
Rihanna, 27, wears matching jeans and jacket to a recent basketball game in New York
Rihanna,
27, wore embellished blue denim jeans with a matching jacket when she
attended a basketball game in New York last month.
Meanwhile,
popstar turned Britain's Got Talent judge Alesha, 36, looked casually
chic when she attended Crufts last week in light blue jeans with a denim
shirt.
By
pairing your double denim with the same shades like Rihanna and Alesha,
your outfit will look thought-out and colour co-ordinated.
But
if you want to add some contrast, follow actress Emily Blunt's lead and
wear denim jeans with a lighter shade of denim shirt or jacket. The
Devil Wears Prada star wore a light blue sleeveless shirt with jeans
when she touched down in L.A recently.
Ripped
jeans are another 2015 trend for denim as illustrated by Cara Delevinge,

Paris Fashion Week
If
you're not brave enough to wear double denim then stick to a trusty
pair of jeans to dress up or down an outfit for any occasion. The
garments never go out of fashion and skinny versions remain popular.
Affordable
fashion retailer F&F currently have a plethora of jeans in their
spring/summer collection so you should find a pair you love whatever
your favourite way to wear denim.
The current big trend in jeanswear is to opt for a distressed, ripped pair.
Model
Cara Delevingne wore a pair of black ripped jeans at Paris Fashion Week
last week while it's another look also favoured by Rihanna.
The popstar wore a blue faded pair slashed at the knees and thigh when she was also in Paris to see some Fashion Week shows.
Reality
TV star Katie Price, 36, also wore ripped jeans for a TV appearance on
This Morning last week. When her observant son Harvey, 12, pointed out
on the show that she had holes in her trousers, she told him: 'It's
fashion!'
Kylie Jenner, 17, left, and Elizabeth Hurley, 49, right, prove the white jeans trend can work for all generations
