Van Damme -
who was nicknamed the muscles from Brussels - is best known for his
action films from the 1980s that include 1988's Bloodsport and 1989's
Cyborg.
He was also in the 1992 hit Universal Soldier and the 1993 success Last Action Hero.
The
handsome dark-haired athlete was on par with Arnold Schwarzenegger and
Sylvester Stallone for almost a decade. In fact, he worked with those
two superstars on the 2012 blockbuster The Expendables 2.
Gladys cited irreconcilable differences and she is asking for spousal support.
She has also asked to no longer have his last name. Jean-Claude's real last name is Van Varenberg.
They have two adult children.
