The
actor, 49, makes the revelations in his upcoming memoir So That
Happened, to be published on April 7, 2015, by New American Library, a
division of Penguin Random House.
In excerpts published Wednesday in The Hollywood Reporter,
Cryer describes the troubled actor's penchant for porn, his spectacular
fall off the wagon following his divorce from Denise Richards and his
bitterness at how Sheen's antics won him a huge pay rise before he
finally walked off the show in 2010.

Hit duo: Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer
enjoyed phenomenal success as brothers on the sitcom Two And A Half Men
from 2003 until Sheen walked out in January 2011
Pals: Cryer, who first found fame in
the movie Pretty In Pink, recalled in his memoir that Sheen was 'a sober
married guy' when they first started doing the TV show
The
New York-born actor said Sheen had been 'a pretty grounded, sober
married guy' at the start of Two And A Half Men in 2003 but during the
second season of the TV show, both were single as Sheen's marriage to
Richards faltered and Cryer split from his British wife Sarah Trigger
with whom he has a son.
'We talked about prostitutes,' Cryer recalled.
'I
was in a bad state right after my divorce, and I certainly didn't feel
dateable,' he said. 'Charlie suggested a few online purveyors he used,
as this was when prostitution was gaining a foothold on the Internet.'
Splitsville:
The two actors found themselves both suddenly single during the show's
second season after Cryer split from his English wife Sarah Trigger and
Sheen parted ways with former Bond girl Denise Richards
Party time: Sheen suggested his
co-star hook up with prostitutes after the end of his first marriage and
helped him find call girls on the Internet
After
taking his co-star's advice and seeing hookers, Cryer says he fell for a
pretty aspiring actress he met at a party and the two started dating
regularly.
On one occasion, he brought his new girlfriend Stephanie to the set of Two And A Half Men where he introduced her to Sheen.
His girlfriend recalled she and Sheen had met when she was working as a waitress but he acted as if he'd never seen her before.
Several
weeks later, the Platoon star confessed to Cryer that he had actually
dated his now-girlfriend but stopped after she refused to have a
threesome with another woman.
As a result of Sheen's revelation, Cryer immediately broke up with her.
Has he dated everyone? The New York
native, 49, detailed how the Spin City star confessed that before Cryer
met her, he'd dated Cryer's girlfriend Stephanie but she left after
refusing to do a threesome
New starts:
In 2007, Cryer married LA TV reporter Lisa Joyner (left) and the
following year, Sheen tied the knot with his third wife, actress Brooke
Mueller (right)
Cryer,
who turns 50 next month, got his big break in the film Pretty In Pink
with Molly Ringwald and Andrew McCarthy but found lasting fame after he
was cast as Sheen's brother in the Chuck Lorre-created sitcom.
As
he watched his co-star slowly fall apart during the show's seventh
season, including being arrested for assaulting his new wife Brooke
Mueller in Aspen, Colorado, over Christmas 2009 ,he says he marveled at
the way Warner Bros. and the show's producers continued to reward the
increasingly dysfunctional star.
'Despite
falling off the wagon, a rocky marriage, looming felony charges and
possible time behind bars, he managed to secure a massive raise [to $1.8
million an episode], fully three times what I was being paid, Cryer
writes in So That Happened.
It only got worse as filming began again in September 2010 for season 7.
'He started talking to himself. Most of all he just looked thinner, in a not-good way,' he wrote.
'One
time during rehearsals to choreograph the movement for a scene, he
asked, "Can I just stand next to this couch?" He wanted to hold on to it
for the duration of the scene.'
Troubled star: On Christmas Day, 2009,
Sheen was arrested for domestic violence following an altercation with
Mueller in Aspen, Colorado
Winning: In his memoir So That
Happened, Cryer records his incredulity that following Sheen's bad
behavior, TV bosses increased his salary to $1.8 million an episode,
three times what Cryer was being paid
In January,
2011, at the taping before a live studio audience of what would be
Sheen's last appearance on Two And A Half Men, Cryer recalls that his
co-star simply couldn't remember his lines.
He described it as 'like watching HAL go haywire in 2001: A Space Odyssey.'
But on the second take, Sheen nailed it and the rest of the taping went smoothly.
He
then walked straight out of the studio in full makeup and went home,
dissing Warner Bros. executives who'd let him know they wanted to speak
to him. Sheen would never return to the show.
In
his book, Cryer chastises those who embraced Sheen's antics and
supported him as a maverick rebelling against the Hollywood system, with
his short-lived one-man show and his 'winning' Internet ramblings.
'He was a guy who got everything he had ever wanted from it,' he said.
Following
Sheen's departure, Ashton Kutcher was cast to replace him on Two And A
Half Men and he and Cryer did another four seasons of the sitcom until
its final episode that aired on February 19 this year.
Cryer starred in the big screen romantic comedy Hit By Lightning in October 2014 and is currently promoting So That Happened.
Sheen
went on to star in a new TV comedy for FX called Anger Management that
ran from 2012 to 2014 and on March 9, he joined Richards and their two
daughters Sam and Lola to celebrate Sam's 11th birthday.
Moving on: Sheen, seen out with
friends in the Sherman Oaks neighborhood of LA last week, went on to
star in the FX comedy Anger Management after walking out on Two And A
Half Men in January 2011
Soldiering on: Cryer, who won two
Emmys for his role on Two And A Half Men, stayed with the show until its
end, making him the only cast member to appear in every episode from
the pilot to the February 19, 2015, finale
