David Walliams puts on a cheery display with Michael Palin following split from wife Lara Stone
The stars were at a BAFTA tribute evening where the comedian appeared in high spirits
The comedian hosted an event with legendary actor and presenter Palin, where they chatted about his extensive career in television.
Newly single David, who it is believed recently split from supermodel wife Lara Stone, appeared in high spirits as he took to the red carpet.
The pair laughed and posed, crossing their arms and throwing each other funny faces.
BAFTA A Life in Television: Michael Palin was held at the Princess Anne Theatre in London.
David has continued to put on a happy face following the split, which has so far remained unconfirmed by representatives of the stars.
Sources say David, 43, will do what it takes to save his relationship with Dutch Lara, 31, who moved out of the family home with their son Alfred, one.
A friend of the Britain's Got Talent judge said: "David does not want to walk away. He hopes Lara will try a reconciliation. He'll do anything."
During BGT filming in London last week, co-star Simon Cowell said: "He's doing fine. He's a trouper."
But a show insider said: "David has been withdrawn for some time. People suspected something was not right in the relationship. We hope he finds happiness in the end."
